There's a bit of a story behind my sons truck so I'll cover it in a few posts. Being that my son was then 15 years old, I set out to acquire him a vehicle. I wanted a GMT400 platform because of the ease of maintenance and reliability as well as keeping the "cool" factor in mind. I've got a number of contacts who looked out for me and one of them paid off....big time. While my friend was in Nixon, Texas he spied exactly what I was looking for......a 1993 single cab 4.3 litre truck. Something that looked cool and wouldn't get him in trouble when he did get his drivers license.
The price tag was $2000 and I ended up getting her for $1500.
