Been noticing when someone wants to type a degree value they use an asterisk...well there's an easy way to put a genuine ° there.Try this: hold down the ''Alt'' key and then hit 0176,once that's done let go of the Alt key and Bingo you have a ° there.Put that in the ''Barely Usefull" knowledge dept. :) I believe there are other ways to type that degree symbol but I don't know them..

Cheers

That's if you have a numeric pad on your keyboard. My laptop supposedly has some magical means of getting the number pad functions but hell if I can figure it out.. and my desktop has a "server" keyboard, narrow with no number pad.

The only way I can get extended characters is to bring up the ol' Character Map prog in Windoze and find/select/copy/paste.. :(

Or we can refer to your handy message here and just copy/paste from there. ;)

Can do that on an Android phone, but the 3ed key board has the ° mark in it. Yes, I am on my phone. Just click on the ?123 , then the =\< and your there.
