Beautiful truck, love love love the color scheme. Get the original alloys from the era and that'll set it off.

What were the original alloys? Those 6 spoke ones? I’ve got a complete set of Steelies with caps and trim rings I need to sand blast and get repainted since those are what it had from new. I want to bring it as close back to the way it was when I was a kid, and I’m even debating putting on the old man extruded aluminum running boards again like it had before.

Putting in a battery removes that variable from the "chase the gremlins" equation. Who knows, some of the bugs might cure themselves. On a truck that has been sitting so long I would also suggest checking every ground on the truck, then fuses etc. Good luck and keep us posted. Good looking truck.

As stated a new battery would be my first go. but have you checked the fuse and relay? Relays typically dont go bad but they are quick to discount , and did you by chance use a multimeter and check the continuity ?

I haven’t checked the relay, but I know the fuse is good. I have a multimeter and that’s how I found only 2 volts from the orange wire I believe. Haven’t checked for continuity yet either, but I’ll check that as soon as I install a new battery.

Small update. Finally got around to buying a battery for it. My friend was parking his mustang before the next storm and he said he could smell fuel, but I still need to replace the fuel filter, in case it’s not getting enough fuel through the filter in it currently. The pump doesn’t prime with the key on, but I can hear it priming when I turn the key off. That doesn’t seem correct to me…

Good plan. It's pointless to do voltage testing when the battery is dead.

Not a bad idea.

That is not correct. Very unusual fault. Good luck.

I found that GM fuel injection manual in the stickies section, gonna start running down the trouble trees first.

You found the fuel injection service manual. How about stating with fuel pump circuitry get the pump working first. Less than 9 volts relays dont work.

I don’t even have an ses light come on when the key is cycled on. Starting with that first, will pick it back up in the morning.
