So I got my all-chrome repro grill from LMC for my 1996 GMC K1500. Looks decent; Taiwan made. Wasn't sure about the all chrome, but here goes. So I just want OEM looking corner lights and lens - plain amber - like original. My original's are....iffy. So I got LMC repro lens's. Amber; stock look. Looks like the fit is so bad they may not work. We all know these things are a gamble, but I'm curious what luck some of you have had in fitting repro - to - repro. Probably the worst combination for having good luck. I went to LMC because they seem to stock a lot of stuff for us and my previous purchases from them have worked out well. And I had hoped they selected parts with a little more care than a fly-by-night ebay or Amazon seller. Gamble, period I guess ?????????????? Thanks.

What exactly isn't fitting right? I know the LMC nuts that cut into the plastic studs on the corner lights are garbage and fit very loosely. I'd reuse your factory ones for sure.

Are you sure you got the correct corners? (Chevy and GMC don't interchange)

Pictures maybe?

Honestly, a few weeks ago I ordered all 4 corners in amber. Didn't fit at all. Looked at what I'd ordered and I'd ordered Chev. My mistake. I discovered that when the grill showed up weeks later. Immediately ordered the correct GMC pieces. I've got a friend who can use my mistakes on his Chev. This morning I spent some time with what I've got. The biggest problem is with just one parking light lens. The back was not cemented squarely to the amber front. I did some fiddling and I can make it work. On the others I found that smoothing the holes in the grill to better accept the lens helped a lot. No matter what, these are not the same fit/finish as OE. Never expected them to be. df2x4, thanks for the comments on the tin nuts. I'd ordered a few from LMC a while back and noticed they seem awfully light and were only gold anodized. On removing my grill, as well as a couple in the wrecking yeard, I found 80% of them were just fine. No corrosion, and they seem to have been zinc coated - somewhat the appearance of galvanizing. Much better, so, again, thanks, you've confirmed I will use the originals. Now if the snow and ice around this old farm will recede enough for me to carry this, "new," grill safely out to where my pickup is sleeping in the back building, i'll find out if it fits in an acceptable fashion. As well as if it will nestle over the '88 glass quad lights I'm restoring. Most reports say it should drop right on. Thank you both, Dennis
