Hello, to all my fellow Chevy/OBS lovers out there,I’m planning to swap my 5.7 for a LQ9 in the near future and after a lot of research I feel like I’m going to handle it pretty well BUT I am slumped on one thing and that’s getting my factory gauges to work at least for now until I drop the 600-800 for a Dakota any help would be greatly appreciated it’s a 94 k1500

You just have to adapt the old sensors to the new engine.
Mainly concerned about speedometer I’ve been watching videos and the one that stood out to me is jumping the LS ecu vss to the existing vss harness but I can’t find a diagram to go by to guide me this will be my first ls swap and trying to make it go smoothly

Pretty much what frank said and the tach, speedo signal will come from the pcm

Get adapter for oil sending unit. And on coolant temp you can add a stock range sensor to pass side of ls or you can change the ls temp sensor for the f body 3 wire but it gauge is off 10ish degrees.

I went the 3 wire sensor route few degrees off dont bother me

Your speedo is a 4k pulse and the ls computer puts out a 4k signal. So all you do is tie pcm output to input wire going into cluster.

And you can adjust tire/gear ratio in tune so you can have an accurate speed

You want to use the blue/black wire from pin S on the cluster harness. Getting set to do the LS swap on my '89 Cheyenne w/'93 cluster

All I did was run the existing VSS wiring parallel to the new harness VSS wiring. That was the DRAC or buffer was still in the loop and could provide the speed signal for the anti lock and speedo.

99 K2500, had 7.4, swapping 03 LM7 DBW conversion, keeping as much of GMT400 as possible. I see no input to the 03 PCM for oil pressure, is that correct? Can run an OBS ECT for the gauge and a 03 ECT sensor for the PCM no problem. Anything else anybody can think of?
