So I just purchased this 1990 k2500, Silverado.
Truck runs great for a minute or two then shuts off. PO said fuel pump is new, have one in box to replace,
I replaced the idle air controller, fuel pressure regulator and the distributor.

My next guess is the throttle position sensor?

Any advice would be appreciated, I work mostly on old carbureted motors and am new to the tbi!

if the ignition module is not producing spark the ECM wont let the injectors spray. so u always want to check spark first. there is a module on the back of the distributor that fires the ignition when you first start it. then the ECM takes control over the ignition to control advance . wshen it dies, check for spark. if none, check ignition module, coil, rotor, cap and grounds

From how you explained it I think it may be the ecm cutting out since I have pretty much replaced everything besides the coil. It’s like it’s getting shut off so it makes sense

I see you said above that it "Dies" like you turned off the ignition.

Does it really cut out "after one minute or two" or is something else a factor? For example...

Is the engine coolant temp passing some threshold and, for example, the ECU's going from open-loop to closed-loop... leading to possible misbehavin'?

It has not had time to warm up. If I bump the key it starts right back up

if your not getting spark when the engine dies, let me know and we can go from there. you will need a cheap test light and an ohmmeter the 10 dollar harbor freight will do.

there is a connector plug with a tan , orange or brown wire, either under the passenger side dash by the air duct, or under a plastic cover on the firewall depending on year.. if you find and unplug this connector, the truck will run ONLY off of the ignition module.. it will not advance timing correctly, so dont drive it, but its ok to idle for testing,, if the truck doesnt stall out with the 'SET TIMING" Connector unplugged, then its something besides your distributor, cap, module, coil, coil wire , and rotor. look for the plug by the passenger airbox first. thats where it is on my 94. on my 88 it was by the firewall.
