I have a 6.5 I don't need and a bunch of other stuff for it including a Frybrid kit for a Suburban if anyone is interested.

For whatever disgusting reason, maybe I hate myself? I would like to have a 6.5 truck left the F alone so it doesn't esplode. I want something dumb in the stable for the worst case scenario. Something I can take a dump in the gas tank and it still runs.

Mine hasn't run in years. Computer freaked the f$#% out and the speedo needle was bouncing from 0 to 300 mph. You could have used it for a fan and it wouldn't shift. Then it ran fine. Then wacky again. Done.:biggun::biggun:

Reading through this really makes me want to turn my SRW K3500 to a dually; and Skylark I feel your pain on the 6.5.
I haven't even been able to get mine running and the urge to drop a 12-Valve in is almost painful at this point.

If your 6.5 has excellent compression and you want to throw in the towel I know a hoarder who would be happy to relieve you of it. :anitoof:

If you don't depend on them for stuff, they're not all that bad ya know.
Stuff like starting, staying running, etc. Stuff like that you mean?

Honestly the 2nd one I bought was hurt when I bought it and I knew it, but the price was right. It was actually a 6.2 with 6.5 heads and turbo, sounded great but wouldn't pull a wet string out of a cat's a s s. All the noise, smell, and grime of a diesel but none of the power. They're not bad motors as long as you accept their limitations and don't treat them like a modern diesel.
