Found myself a new addition to the fleet. My old ‘98 k1500 is rotten beyond repair and needed a replacement! While I work on my k2500 sas Cummins swap, this big guy will be the parts picker upper

Being from New England i consider it in great shape, it needs one cab corner but the frame, fenders, floor, rockers, bed rails are all in great shape.

Two sneaky peaks

That's in grate shape. Cab corners are so common on these trucks. I had to repair mine on my 97 several months ago, and I live in South Louisiana. It never snows hers, so there are no salted roads. Mine rotted from the inside out.

Pulled out the interior and started evicting mice. This trucks smells like the farm it came off of.

Drill brush, bissell carpet cleaner, simple green, and a lot of elbow grease and it’s starting to clear up.

Blech; I need to do my interior so bad.
If you put a qaurter of the time, effort, and patience you've put into your K2500, this thing is going to look amazing

Thank you @BNielsen, thanks for following along all these years. I’ll get back to the Cummins swap once the weather warms up.

Spent two hours on the front seats. I’m happy with how far they came in such a short amount of time. I’ll probably be happy with them but no telling until they dry.

I sent out a sample of the oil to be analyzed by Blackstone Labs, fill up a small test tube of the oil that was in the truck when I got it and send it on its way. Results came back seemingly great

Stripped out the interior carpet and brought it over to the car wash, soaped it up with simple green, agitated it with a drill brush and power washed the crap, literally, out of it. It’s been drying out for a few day but it till smells.

Ive been looking at ACC carpet and for $150 bucks I might just get a new one. I’ve been driving around with just the drivers seat and no interior for the past few days and it’s been mostly smell free which I’m happy about.

The heat hasn’t been great so as a first step I put a new delco 195* thermostat in, it’s a sauna now. That big block puts out some heat!
