Hi, all!

The subject speaks for itself on this one. The click happens when i put the into the run position, then stops after a while. It also starts back up when i try to use the HVAC controls.

Any suggestions? If you need more info, let me know.

Do you hear it more behind the center of dash or under the glove box, down by heater box? How long does it click for, since "a while" is pretty generic of a description. My guess with what you've said so far is it's one of the 2 blend door actuators on that side of the car.

99 tahoe and I have similar(I think)-there's a something going "tap" rather than "click"-irregular,doesn't always happen, seem to be on the passenger side-I have no clue what's causong it. I tried to have my wife listening to it to pinpoint exact location but she just can't find it. Totaly annoying lil gremlin

Im gonna take a wild guess since your signature doesnt tell what you have

But i bet you have a 88-94 and its coming from far passenger side behind the blower motor. And thatll be your recirc. actuator

My friend has a 2003 Sierra and it has a tap tap tap noise which is one of the doors like a blend door.
He is able to get it to calm down by setting the fan at a certain point.
I think he said it is a stripped gear on an actuator.

You can replace it, it is next to impossible to get all 3 screws back in, I managed 2 back in, and so far so good. I removed the glovebox liner to get more light down there.

My write-up on replacing this with relative ease - though depending on your browser settings, the pics might be broken. You can either allow "insecure sites" to view them or right-click and open them in another tab. My host provider wants megabucks for https ...

Super common on the 94 back trucks, not sure which actuator but is a PITA the replace so most ppl just let click.
