1997 5.7 only 9 mpg

Well I'm down to 7 MPG. Repleaced downstream o2s about 800 miles ago, runs great just **** mileage, I had 300 mile a road trip and got 14mpg on 91 non ox fuel. driving extremely easy and 65.
I changed the air filter to a standard filter had a wix heavy duty air filter in from this summer. Maybe that will help.
Plugs look perfect. Consider ans tire change now

Entirely normal for fuel economy to decrease as the temperature drops.

Let me guess: It's colder now where you are, than it was when you started this thread.

Downstream sensors wouldn't affect fuel economy. Upstream sensors can.

Unless the HD filter was getting plugged, I wouldn't expect this to make a bit of difference.

Have you ever put a timing light on the thing, to assure that the electronic spark advance is working?
