93 K1500, the 'faux chrome' coating is bubbling/peeling off the grill. Best options to recoat or wrap ? I want to keep original look.

Replace. Or color match/Blackout. Some chrome looking foil tape would make it a 20 footer but it's cheap and easy for now.

Here are some replacements for you;

Thanks! I'm starting to think that between hassle + cost of refinishing I would be better off ordering a new one. Only benefit to recoating would be keeping the original part on the truck.

I got mine from LMCTruck.com - pn 39-4055 for $119.95. Had to do some minor modifications i.e. grind down the spots where the square inserts for the turn signal housings go, etc. Other than that, it looks pretty close to OE.

The aftermarket ones will also peel eventually. I had a few do that over the years. But the cheapest fastest least labor intensive way is to just replace it. They are cheap enough. Last time I bought a black one that you paint to match. I sold the truck so I don’t know how it held up but the three years I had it it worked fine.
