So what's the story? Where you taking your truck to the body shop or something? You said it still drove, right? I just found this build thread...will doing some reading on my off time! :banana-mario:
Story is on the previous page but the short of it is, I'm in Texas and ice got the better of me. Sent it into a tree in a ditch. Still runs and drives although I have the battery strapped to the air cleaner lol. I took it to a frame shop to get it bent back and they suggested getting the alignment checked out and doing the frame pulls myself because it would be simple enough and save me money.

I do appreciate it. It's probably a pretty boring "build" but I'm thinking I might do something small with it while it's down. Maybe improve the look slightly

My K3500 must have been in a similar accident prior to when I bought, but probably worse...I've been meaning to take it apart and do some heating and beating, LOL. I just drive it like that. Truck is kinda rough, you know what I mean?

I watched a video on YT from BSF Recovery and the guy bent his frame also and straightened the kink with one of those ratcheting binders, chain and heating....just used a framing square to measure bolt holes from a another known good frame he had.

A couple years ago my daughter decided to go 4 wheeling in her Eclipse (she actually fell asleep). She bent the core support and, when the tow truck pulled her out of the field, tore the exhaust out. I went to Tractor Supply and bought a couple "D" ring tie downs, welded each to a plate, then anchored them with 5/8" wedge anchors to hold the back of her car while we pulled the front straight.

For the front I wrapped the chain around a couple shop support poles. Then used a come-a-long and 2" ratchet strap to pull it out. Got it all tight and then hit the core support with a sledge and it popped back in place.

It gives me a great idea! I'll have to figure out how to do this without my neighbor knowing I borrowed and defaced his brand new shop :think:

On a more serious note, that method is how the frame guy explained it. I plan to use a couple trees in the backyard, a come a long, and a sledge hammer as well... it's the best I got lol

Ive bought 2 different used ones for 2 different trucks and never had any issues
I guess I'm headed to the yard then :waytogo:

I just spent the last 2 weeks straightening out my coworker's '13 Dodge Journey after he boogered it up but good. I used a 4k lb comealong, a heavy chain, a borrowed 1 3/4" thick by 7' bar of stainless from work, and my Burb as the anchor. Went from a 45° frame rail bend down to about 1.5° on the bad side. No heat, just a bunch of pull, hold, release, repeat. Looks relatively straight now.

Wow I can't believe I've forgetten to update this thread for so long.

The highlights of the last 12 months or so
- Fixed the frame, snagged a few decent body parts
- Moved 4 hours away for a job
- Got married
- Bought new tires for the truck (31x10.5r15 Duratracs)
- Picked the truck up from transmission rebuild #3 yesterday

181,000 miles now and daily driven. Needs an oil change now lol. I'll come back and update with more pictures here soon.
