On my 98 suburban, I am having intermittent door lock issues.

Randomly, the door locks (all doors) will lock/unlock in quick succession usually repeating a couple times then again a minute later or maybe an hour later.

The battery is out of the keyless entry fob, so it is not that.

I disconnected the drivers door lock switch and problem persisted, so it is not a faulty switch.

Almost exclusively happens when not running, though I am pretty sure I can remember it happening a couple times while driving.

I am going to take some time today to try and track it down. Just thought I would post here and see if anyone else has had a similar issue.

In the obd port wires number 4 and 8 are used to program the remotes. iIf you jump out those 2 ports with a paper clip the locks will cycle. Sounds like you have a short between these two wires. At least this way you will know what color wires to look for. Check for them crushed in the drivers door hinge.

I think I fixed it. I replaced the relay, above accelerator pedal and no haywire business so far. I found the relay, popped the cover and watched it in action while cycling door locks. One side (I think it was the lock side, as opposed to unlock side of relay) gave a pretty good arc when engaging/disengaging. I could of tried cleaning the contacts but opted to just replace it. So far so good.
