Got my Duramax back from the shop, so I stole the wheels and tires(265 BFG all terrain) that were on it, and put them on the Suburban while I wait for my 285s tp come in. The 20x10s went back onto the Duramax where they will stay for a few more weeks before I take them off for the winter season, then the 265s will go back on. Confused yet?...haha

I took a few days off of work because i thought I had gotten Covid again. While I waited for my test results, which ended up being negative, i decided to get some work done on the Burb. I wanted to hook up my 600 watt Sub box, but could not figure where the wires off the Amp were coming from. All the wires were actually running to each individual door speaker. Ok no big deal, i'll just unhook them...nope! Whoever did the wiring cut the harness to add the wires from the amp. I connected and soldered the original connection on one door and no sound. Said fck it, i'm going to rip out this amp and put a better one I have laying around. With the radio out, it was clear that whoever did the job was an absolute hack. Pictures speak for itself. Sticky electrical tape and all... a bunch of cut wires etc etc it was a nightmare. The icing on the cake was that yellow wire running into the fuse panel on the drivers side dash being held in place by a 10 amp fuse. I got a good laugh out of that.

So I removed the Kenwood unit from my Land Cruiser, and that is going to go into this. Ordered new harnesses and anything else I think I needed. I should have it wrapped up by Sunday. And I will have to fix the rest of the door speakers. The rear two are original BOSE i beleive, with the fronts being some Kenwoods but they didn't work to begin with. I am probaly going to source some original BOSE ones for the front.

I was getting tired of looking at the ugly white grille that was originally chrome. Whoever painted it did a terrible job with the prep because it was chipping all over. Ordered a new one from LMC and it looks much better. While doing that, the cheap headlights I brought broke. The passenger side one cracked awhile back and i had washers holding the plastic togetjer with some screws i had laying around. The plastic section that was broken fell out so it's now garbage. And the lower parking light on the drivers side snapped off a mount. Absolute junk. I brought some more expensive ones just now, so hopefully they'll arrive this coming week.

Started on the 3" body lift install. Instructions are pretty straight forward. Got everything unhooked under the hood and now struggling to get the spare tire down...the wire let down but the tire is hanging about mid way. Something must be stuck.

Got passenger side body lift spacers in and started on the opposite side. Not feeling too great today so if I am up to it i'll finish drivers side tomorrow. Gotta make sure it's all properly torqued and aligned right. Gotta replace a body mount lower bushing, so i might as well do all of the lowers before i make sure everything is 100%.

Ended up beating the spare tire off the hanger. I'm just going to remove all that since i won't even be replacing it. Got the new lights in, finished some things under the hood and put the front wheels back on. Pulled it out of the garage to find the trans cooler line from the auxillary cooler to radiator was leaking. So need to replace that.
