At the junk yard I took off the trim. Dont push on the glass. I busted one at the junk yard. I also think I took off the black trim cover for the wiper to access the latch. Cant remember though
Yes you have to be very careful handling the lift glass. It's tempered glass, not safety glass, so if it gets in a bind it will shatter. Had to have the lift glass replaced on Dad's 06 Yukon XL, and it was over $400. All because of a little rock that got chucked up by Weed Wacker in the yard..... BTW the glass guy said the long side glass on the Tahoe/Suburban is tempered glass too.

Had to cut the old tailgate handle out as all other options weren't working. Took the handle and the actuator off the old tailgate and it worked. Also my new bowtie came in.

While drivin to a friends house for a bonfire my t case tail housing somehow sheared off. Driveshaft flew off, all the fluid dumped out. No idea how. Waitin on the tow truck tonight to bring the truck home and will drop the t case tomorrow. I'm probaly going to end up buying a new one anyway

Between starting a new job and working on my other project, I haven't really touched the Blazer. I ordered a new rear driveshaft that I am waiting for.
Now, there are two different ways I can go about the project. I've been contemplating doing an SAS and painting the truck with flat tan. OR, doing a new 2 tone with a different color and keeping the IFS. It really depends on the body work honestly. I took it to a body shop and they found stuff that the un trained eye wouldn't normally pick up on.

Thought long and hard about it, and I have decided that I am going to do the SAS. The Superlift I will hold onto for another build ;) The axle is going to be a Dana 60 kingpin, with the ORD bolt on brackets, cross over steering etc etc... The goal is to fit 40"s. But for now I may get 37"s, as I found a set on marketplace that looked decent. The end goal will be a full size offroader that I can take out wheeling, but still drive to work. I already have a 97 Land Cruiser on 37"s, bumpers sliders all that, but having a second wheeling rig won't hurt!
Right now I am doing a little more body work on the truck, then I am most likely selling my 35"s this weekend.

Picked up the 37"s I was looking at. Funny because when i got home, i put up one of my spare 37"s from my land cruiser up next to it, and it was considerably bigger. I guess the 37" irok is not a true 37? Anyway, got them on. Still need a drive shaft.

Also, is there a market for IFS parts, or am I better just tossing them? I'd keep the front diff obviously. What about the rear axle- (3.73 gear 6 bolt)

If it already doesn't have it, I'd swap to the 14 bolt SF 6 lug rear end (if you plan on keeping it a 6 lug after you SAS it) and put at least a 4:88 or 5.13 gear ratio in it.

Going to be going 8 lug. Would it be better to put in an 14 bolt gm rear or is the d60 rear better?
