Engine mount

Has anybody ever jacked engine up by oil pan to change a motor mount? I would use a peice of wood to eavn the load also I can’t find ac delco mounts its 96 k2500 vortec I tried the anchor brand they suck any help would be great thank you for your time

Yes I've jack up the engine from the oil pan. I also loosened the other side so it could pivot. I did 1 side at a time. Also I just ordered mounts for a 5.7 vortec from rock auto. They were gm genuine

Wait. What? I can't find them for my 96 or 97 K1500's? I've never seen them for sale at Rockauto or anywhere else. What's the part number? Gotta' link?

The motor mounts on mine are fine, but I would like to have a set for backup.

After you've jacked up the motor have some short 2x4 blocks to wedge in between the block and frame for safety reasons--sort of like using jackstands instead of relying on a floor jack.

What year truck was it 4x4? I looked mine are not flat one side higher than other thanks for reply

Very good idea wood is cheap fingers are not Go check your local home store scrap wood pile i bet they have a bad piece of wood but still has a few feet of good in it prefect fot this job. Its usally by the cutting table or in the back
