The only real draw back to the tool thing is the mix match SAE and metric size bolts on our trucks. You got to have both. Back when I was doing auto mechanic work everyday, I could look at a bolt head, and tell you what size wrench. I kind if still can, but the metric sizes are so close that you end up under the truck with 2 sets of wrenches and sockets.
Yeah they started that on the later square body trucks. We had several of them and 2 80s GM cars. So we got used to the idea of 2 toolboxes, one metric and one SAE, that we took around on trips. I remember many times, slinging those heavy things up onto the folded down second seat of whatever Burb we had, so they'd be accessible through the side door. Only had to get in them a couple times though. And considering we made trips at least every month, sometimes more often, that says something about a well maintained GM truck.
