Interestingly, I have a Oriellys steering gear sitting on the shelf that has very little play even after 10k miles.

I’m saving it for Special Occasions.....

Of course, I returned two others to Oriellys before I got this one.

They make an AC Delco steering gear?
No.

They SELL an AC Delco steering gear. AC Delco doesn't make it, they don't rebuild it. They have someone else do the dirty work, and then they put the result in their box, and take credit for the whole works.

I bet there's two, maybe three companies actually rebuilding steering gears for the mass-market, and two dozen companies selling their products in custom-printed boxes.

It’s funny how that works (well, not really). The only ones that worked for me straight out of the box were a Redhead (Ford Bronco, maybe five years ago) and two Bluetops on my 400s.

east,
Are the Bluetops still working? I have been tempted to call them about rebuilding mine. My 97 has 166k on it and it's time to fire the parts cannon on the front end.......

I soooo look forward to drilling the BJ rivets out.
