I´m sure many of you have experienced this problem. Yesterday all turn signal lights, hazard lights and brake lights stopped working. The brake-warninglamp on the instrument cluster also lit up. No clicking from relays. All other lights ok. 89 Chevy Silverado K1500
Fuses ok. Can`t find the hazard-fuse though. It`s only one fusebox in my 89 Silverado right, in the cabin in front of the driver to the left? Changed blinker relay. I must mention that all this happened after driving home from a shop which welded in a new muffler. I asked them afterwards if they disconnected the battery before welding, they did not. Hope you can point me in the right direction! Thank you!

Wild guess: More related to the turn signal switch than the welding.

Grab a wiring diagram, see if the various non-working lights go through the turn signal switch like I think they do.

Good idea! But strange it happened immediately after driving home after welding. People who know says ALWAYS disconnect battery when welding on chassis...

It's coincidental. You disconnect the battery to keep from inducing a voltage in any electronics. The turn signal circuit is not solid-state and is more resilient to amperage draw and voltage spikes.

I Second the turn signal switch. I had a similar problem on my suburban. All of those circuits are run through that switch. If you test for voltage at your lights and have none coming in when its supposed to, you have a problem with the switch or the fuse. 1a auto has a really great how to video on replacing the switch on YouTube. I don't think the hazards would have their own fuse as they are technically blinkers, just switched to be together and not separate.

Now it's working! All but turn-signals. Have changed out the blinker-relay (standard electronic relay) and turn-fuse without success.

Hazards, brake lights works perfectly and the brake-lamp on the dash is gone. Gone through almost all wiring, grounds and bulb-holders. The stop fuse was blown. Can not imagine I could overlook that. What is the difference of the brake-fuse and stop-fuse? Guess I should get me a manual.
