Then it's fairly simple to put it back together. You can get a fiberglass repair kit at most auto parts stores, it's a pretty straightforward job. If you're missing pieces and have to fab up parts it can be a huge pita.
Yeah, I am going to try and repair it. Can't hurt to try.

Aren't these something weird instead of fiberglass?

Double checked myself before posting that, yup. They're SMC (Sheet Molded Compound). There's a stickied thread on this at the top of the Paint and Body section. Looks like fiberglass is not the way to go for a long term repair.

I wasreading that also , last night. i was thinking that only related to the stepside trucks. Maybe i am wrong. I will add a few pics.

few pics of the damage.
Finally got the fender back together. used fiberglass epoxy kit from west marine, and some body filler, and lot of sanding.
i went ahead and sanded the complete fender, since i had it off, plus i was able to get rid of the spider cracks in the paint or gel coat. put in some new led marker lights.
