Yeah the door switch has three pins, you can pull the key pin out of the connector for the time being.

I have a 94 & the chime only comes on for a few seconds with the door open, with key in ignition, then stops. The seatbelt light doesn’t come on either when I’m not wearing it. I know it works cause it comes on when I turn the key on. I actually prefer things this way, just wondering if it’s normal for a 94.

Those little chime boxes are quirky lol. The one in my 93 would work only when it wanted to.

The buzzer on our 94 Sierra K2500 stopped working one day, and then I discovered not long after that the brake lights weren't working. After some checking, I discovered that the fuse had blown, and to my surprise, replacing that fuse brought the buzzer back, so fyi, if the buzzer suddenly stops working, one might want to check that fuse because that circuit appears to also service the brake lights in addition to the buzzer.

Or you guys can do what I did--put electrical tape over all but one or two of the holes in the cover.

Quiets it down considerably......

Previously I unplugged the chime and threw it in the glovebox. Then I left the headlights on when I left in the morning when it was dark and shut off the truck when it was light out--in the middle of nowhere while antelope hunting. That cost me a half day worth of hunting.

I put the chime back in........

@alpinecrick Yuck! That didn't sound like much fun!

I think I'll leave the chime in. If I close the door and put on my seat belt before putting the key in the ignition, I never hear it, unless the lights are on.
