I have an oil leak from the speed sensor on the tail case of the trans. It leaks enough the case is clean under the sensor. It almost appears like the electrical plug is leaking??? It is a plastic part that presses into the trans, I assume with an O-ring seal.

Is it common for the plug to leak? If not, does anybody know the ID and section of the O-ring. It would be nice to only pull the sensor one time to replace the o-ring.

Thanks!

It looks like it's somewhere around 2" ID and 2-3/8" OD? You may have another issue.

IIRC the slip yoke and O-ring goes in before the VSS reluctor gear to keep any fluid from migrating back on the shaft.

When I bought my last trans it didn't come with the reluctor or the slip yoke tube. I wound up getting them somewhere on line (I don't remember where), jacked up the rear of the truck, removed the tail shaft, and installed them. It didn't hardly leak any at all. This is how it came from the trans builder (after I removed the tail housing), pissed me off!:321:

90% sure it's the speed sensor. The case is dry enough forward of the sensor. The sensor itself is dripping wet.

The GM parts diagram calls for a GM or ACDELCO #10054241. It is .687 I.D. by .1 thick. Which is 11/16 id by 3/32 thick also Standard AS 568 O Ring size " A0115" thats from your description of whar you need. Good luck.
