If the recruiter signed off on it, hold them to it! Be friendly, but keep asking where your money is. If you didn't get it in writing, you're boned. Never trust a recruiter unless you get a copy of the paperwork with their signature on it.
nah not through the recruiter, it was through my unit, paper work never got put through for my rank up, so im currently just waiting till it gets done. Army reserves for ya XD

There's two people you don't piss off, admins and finance. The admins can make your life miserable or easy. Always give them a big smile, ask them how their day is, and do what you can to make their job easier. Finance people can get your travel vouchers through quickly, or they can turn them back for not having an i dotted. If you want to get paid on time, do not talk trash about them - they'll hear about it.

It sounds like your problem is in the admin office. Don't assume they're being wieners, it may just be a case of "the traditional reservist was working it, but now it's the work week and the technician didn't get it passed down to him".

Well i finally have a pretty big update for the thread, so here it goes.

Starting friday the 25th me and a buddy got started on putting the lift kit on the ole turd,

we had the 14bolt painted and swapped in within like 3 hours, i didnt end up putting the add a leafs in yet, gonna have a shop do it when i get my upper balljoints replaced. So for the time being this is what it looks like.

From there we started wrenching on the front end, the hard part was taking it apart. every single bolt was rusted in place, so when the pneumatic impact cant take it off its time to re evaulate. Not wanting to break anything we took it slow and did things the right way not wanting to screw anything up.

The truck has been through a couple stages since yall have last seen it, so some of the stuff might be new to yall. Still working on my 350, im to the point where i might as well take the time and build a 383 so the 350 is gonna be put on hold till i can afford parts for it.

Any ways, the front took about 3 days, to tear down completely without breaking any bolts, (ill have to grab some new pics of everything) once we got it tore down we started back on re building it, the truck got a bunch of new front end parts as well, im still waiting on my upper control arms and camber caster bolts to ship. I got most of the crossmembers and drop brackets put in, and it all started to align from there. The only real issue i had was the tosion keys being rusted to the bars, simple solution was to unbolt the crossmember and pound it backwards.
Worked well XD.

With the help of my buds and a few beers later we were having a good weekend and finally finished it up and got it back together.

Yeah im the twig in the back. Fresh off work and grinding. XD

She finnaly got all put together and sat on her own weight for the first time at 3 am on a friday. She got new tierods and pass side balljoint so it all feels solid in the front end for once.

Took it into work the next day and threw it on the alignment rack and gave her a rough camber/toe alignment, the caster wasnt too far out so i just left it.

Once i got her all buttoned up i had to go test it out, and i dont think i ever wanna go back to an open dif in a truck, the g80 locker is a pretty good locker imo. Only time will tell though once she goes its getting 4.10s and a e-locker. Id say it did pretty good for only being in 2wd, photos will never do justice for the angle of the hill.

Also i had to see how big she was compared to my buddies truck with a 2 inch level/lift so suffice to say shes a big girl and she needs much bigger tires.

i sold the tool box and the light bar because i blew up the rear eparked the truck.

close to 6 months later i finally had enough money to get the rear end rebuilt. i put it back on the road and ran if for almost another 2 months before the nv3500 got the classic input shaft bearing whine, it still does it but i didnt want to run the truck at the time.

another month or so later i took it back out and went mudding with my buddies and ended up shattering the t-case chain. bought another transfer case and went back on my merry way.

then i broke the driveshaft and parked it again and bought an explorer that had brand new 31s on it

sadly i got backed into at my local gas station and they totaled it but i got 2000$ and got to keep my tires off of it, so heres how she sits as of today, shes in the garage getting it ready to pass inspection because the shop that was supposed to fix the trans deemed it "too unsafe to be driving on the road because it needed body mounts and the leaf spring had a hairline crack in it.

ill update this in a few days going over everything thats getting done to it. im buying a brand new set of 35x12.5r17 tires off my buddies dad for $400 after basics in September, hes holding onto them for me and i do work for him so hes giving me a damn good deal on them. other than that ive got a 3inch body lift on its way from rough country. Thanks for reading this far if you have, shes a WIP but it will slowly get there.

Since i havent updated this in a while i suppose nows a good a time as any. Any who, i built a 350 in the shack in my back yard and it took like 4 months to get parts for it since im currently working at autozone getting shafted on my pay. Stock tbi heads with super thin head gaskets, cant remember the quench on them but did the math and its like 9.38:1 compression so thats cool.
Ill have to upload photos later since i dont have any on my computer. But ill throw the spec list below.

94 350 SBC:
Stock short block(78k Miles)
Stock 193# heads
Summit Dual Plane High Rise - SUM-226061
Summit Hei - SUM-850001R
Comp Cams 270H - CCA-12-211-2 (shouldve gone with a bigger cam but this one is alright for the money)
Edelbrock 650 - 1906
Cheap Mahle headgaskets - 1178BS

Overall its not too bad of an engine. Guy that actually builds engines said it should make around 300hp and 350 ish ft-lb
Threw it all together and got it running. Currently its at 6* advanced in timing but it still needs messed with, the carb is about right on point for the setup and couldnt have gotten any better, its right out of the box and works great. Tranny dont seem to be holding up too well to the increased power and abuse ive been giving it lately. the nv3500 has the classic whine again so thats cool. Ill link a video of it idling. But for now thats all i got.

I completely forgot about this thread, so, sorry guys. Any whays i got kinda a big update and there will be more coming soon. I yanked the bed off my truck to find that the frame was rusted out in the ass end. I got it patched and taken care of and primered. Still gotta power wash it and under coat it before i do anything with it.

Anyways i also managed to pick up a parts truck with a relatively clean bed. so thats gonna get put to use. I got vortec heads and some other small parts to rebuild the motor with so itll make a little bit more power here some time in the future. but mostly gonna pick this thing appart and part it out since the frame is shot.

And the last part to this little update is i managed to clean up some of the wiring and plumbing in the engine bay. i still need to take the electric fuel pump out of the truck and put a lower pressure one in. Truck is carb swapped. Not my favorite of ideas but its cheaper and just as good a fuel injection to a certain point. The next motor i build im aiming for about 450hp at the crank which will probably kill the trans but itll be okay in the end. Truck is running and driving and tuned properly now. Ill keep you guys updated as much as i can. im currently working two jobs so its hard to find time to work on this thing. Its getting sent away to get rockers and cab corners done here soon so youll see that. But ill keep yall updated. Shell be back soon.

Update - 3/28/22
So the current status of the truck is kind of floating in the air. The passenger side head cracked, but i bought a super clean bed and got it slapped on. Currently waiting on my
heads to get finished up. Going to vortecs so hoping itll be a little bit quicker. anyways the truck has alot of work ahead of it before it can get back on the road. Going to try and get it atleast drivable soon. Had my kid a month and a half ago so hes been taking up a bit of my time. But everything has been going smooth. Couple minor setbacks but the truck will come out better in the end. hoping to put my fenders on soon. itll be 3 different colors XD. Not much else has been happening. The truck has mostly been sitting, inspection ran out last september and im gonna have to find a guy to put a sticker on it. I dont think it will ever legally pass again. Its missing every bit of emmisions equipment, tires stick out, no front bumper, rust. Its a good truck and for the amount i have in it i couldve bought a new truck but i had this thing planned from the beginning and wont ever leave my ownership. If yall have any input or if anyone is even reading this anymore thank you and ill hopefully be updating you guys soon again.
