So I'm looking for info on this swap. I have a m22 muncie to do the swap with but I'm wondering how easy it is going to be. First off I have a 94 c1500 Silverado. Short bed, single cab, 2wd, nv3500, 4.3. Will soon be swapping a 400-450 hp 355 sbc in. The truck will be a good little street queen and occasionally maybe some track play. Not taking it on interstate drives, not daily driving it, etc. The most it will ever see is maybe 1.5 hour drives and it will be all backroads. I'm not worried about it pushing 3k rpms at 55. The nv3500 might hold for a while but long term use is more than likely out of the question for it. I plan to keep the hydraulic clutch and putting a retrofit hydraulic slave/throw out in it. Biggest question is fitment, transmission length between the two, shifter location, trans mount location, and will I be able to use the same clutch etc from the nv3500. Too much work and not enough gain? Again, 3k rpms at 55 is not a problem to me.

For one the shifter is gonna be in a different spot. Right next to your right leg. It should bolt up any Gm bell housing, since can't use the one off the 3500. Clutch should be the same. RPM/MPH depends on gear ratio and tire size. 4.10s suck with a 4-speed and anything smaller than a 28" tire.

Thinking I'm gonna stay with the 3.42 stock rear end for the time being just for the possibility of throwing the muncie in there. I knew with a really low rear gear it would be horrible. I'm wondering if I can make or buy a shifter that might put it back close to the stock position. I don't want to cut the floor pan and carpet out that much. Lol

Maybe you could make an adapter plate and fab your own linkage rods? I had an M22 in my 65 Impala SS with 4.10s, it ran ~3K @ 60 MPH. I can't remember what size tires I had - either G60 - 15s or J60 - 15s IIRC.

Didn't even think of looking at final drive ratios. This is looking more and more promising. Looks like really the only thing I have to worry about is the trans mount and the drive shaft. Everything else seems to be pretty straight forward or fairly easy to overcome.
