I plan to lift the front of my 93 k1500 , 2.5 inches to level the truck out, can I use stock shocks with this lift or is there a longer shock or shock extender? TIA Patrick

You should be fine with stock shocks. When turning up the bars make sure you have at least 2" of downward travel before topping out. Meaning the tire must drop away from the fender at least 2 inches before leaving the ground. If not the truck will ride extremely rough and you are likely to break upper ball joints with no warning.

I suspect if you crank 2.5", you won't have the above mentioned down travel. Truck will ride like ass without enough down travel. But stock shocks are good to the downstops.

Stock shocks will work as they are designed for the travel distance of your torsion bars. When you crank them you lose travel not gain so the shocks will not matter. It will ride rough. We cranked the bars on my son-in-laws K2500 and every time he hit speed bumps at anything over 5mph the front wheels left the ground. It was equally as sketchy on rough back roads. We figured out his would only do about 1.5 inches of lift cranking the bars while still being safe enough. Yours may vary, but do it cautiously.

Is this a real lift kit or a “torsion bar” lift kit? It’s gonna ride horrible of it’s a torsion bar lift. You’ll have no down travel. And you’ll start eating suspension parts, Ball joints, tires, steering end links not to mention sterring will be funkier as the suspension will constantly travel in basically close to fully extended position. I doubt you’ll be able to compensate that much positive camber with a alignment with stock upper arms.

If you’re gonna lift it get a real lift kit or leave it alone. 2.5 inches isn’t gonna do crap for you off road or perform/handle better but it sure will make the truck ride like crap and give you all sort of headaches. Save your money

I’ve done a few torsion bar lifts on friends trucks. I don’t know anyone who was happy with them. They usually had me lift them or go back to stock height.
