I have an awesome upgrade i did to the horrible excuse for visors GM put in our trucks. I have a 2000 K2500 CCSB LS version that had the special sunvisors placed in suburban's. They sagged down over the years with the cardboard inner body. I absolutely hated how they didn't sit flush with the roof. So i did something about it. I explain as this goes on.

this is the only tools you need besides a #2 phillips screw driver to remove the old visors.

- go buy these visors if you have a grey interior. they are a decent match not perfect by any means but these are fantastic visors that have extension arms.

Start by removing your old visor and place it on the bench next to the new one.

Heat up the three tabs you see above that are around the socket area. Heat them up just till they barely get shiny then grab your small flat blade screw driver and pry them back. ( you wont want or need this piece you only want the mounting tab off the old visor.) after you remove it throw it out.

This is what you should be left with! great lets move on to the old visor

Same thing on this one, heat up the four tabs and get them till they get just slightly shiny. Pull them back ever so gently just enough to be able to pull it free from the post. If you break one no worries it wont matter.

You'll be left with this. Take your razor blade and cut right above that first notch right where my fingernail is pointing to. Cut all the way across and be careful Obviously.

Should look something like this. Now take that and place it on the new visor post.

Now grab you a 7/16" external snap ring. If you dont have these no worries Harbor Freight sells a 300 piece kit for like $6.00.

this is what you should be looking at. Take and push it down slightly while placing the snap ring over the post and into that gap.

That snap ring will make sure that the post does not fall out of the hole since you dont have fingers holding it in like before. Now go back to your truck and install them just like the old ones. I reused my clips that hold it in place and the electrical hookup is exactly the same and works with no issues. You now have brand new reliable great looking visors and it took you probably $70 in parts and 30 min of time. Here are some of mine installed.

dose that work for an '89 K1500. Mine droop down and wont stay all the way up, installed LMC sun visors and they did the same thing right out of the box. I finally got pissed one day and pushed the drivers side all the way to the roof and marked it, took it out and spot welded it with my MIG welder, it noe stays up but can't swing it down.

I’m not sure. If it has the same exact base for the visor like mine did I don’t see why it wouldnt.

Rebel04343, thanks for posting this upgrade with the great instructions. I picked up a 99 two door this summer and I've been scouring the internet and salvage yards looking for visors. This is the way to go for sure. I did it last night and they're perfect.
