2wd wheel bearing dust cap

Having a heck of a time trying to find part numbers for dust caps for the rotors that cover wheel bearings on a 92 c1500 2wd. Lmc doesnt even list them.

If you just need a replacement, why not go to a wrecking yard?

Even the parts house has them in Dorman. I can't remember the specific part # that fits our trucks but they have it; I've scored them there in the small domed design to replace the cylinder dome originals so that wheels with small center caps would fit better.

I found Dorman 618-102 and dorman 13997. it was kinda tricky finding them.

I contacted Dorman directly and they say that they don't make them to fit the c1500. just the 2500 and 3500's. now im stupid i know but are these a interchange for my truck? if so would it be dorman part number 13975. he even game me the gm part number, and don't really wanna pay 22 dollers for a 4 dollar part.

I guess all those Dorman caps I used on a couple different GMT400 1/2 tons were made from unicorn farts then.

Go try some out maybe??

someotherguy im not implying anything by my statement its just Dorman themselves say they don't make a part number specific for our trucks. I guess i'll just put ol' holey back on till i can afford to buy one of each and see which one fits and which ones fall out.

They fit poorly, as they are just barely deep enough to clear the castellated nut and cotter pin. Depending on the machining tolerances of your rotors, they may fit loosely in the bore. I tried one to replace my factory cap that was loose fitting in a new rotor. Ended up using a trailer hitch ball and a some gentle persuasion to flare the end of the cap ever so slightly and tighten it up in the rotor. Saved the Dorman cap for use on my '85. I would recommend scrounging one out of the scrap yard and avoiding the Dorman, or at least finding the best deal you can on the OE piece.

I haven't tried it yet so I can't totally confirm it's fit but the three links below claim it does.

I lost a bearing cap the other day on my 97 chevy c1500 and also have not been able to find a replacement in a parts store nor time to go to the dump. I did find this GM part listing that claims it fits. 15602628 supersedes 15589459 at a couple places on line

Well I saw a guy on youtube fixing a 1994 chevy 2wd c1500 pick up and he used a Dorman 13977. So I took a chance and thought it would work on my 1997 Chevy 2wd c1500 pickup.

I fit very nicely. Maybe could use a bit of enlarging to make it fit tighter, but actually felt ok to me. And I put the bolt cover back on assuming it will keep it on or at least in the wheel till I can check it again in a day of so. Not quite as roomie and the more square stock cap, but seemed to have clearance over the castle nut too. Woo Hoo! That cap is listed as fitting a lot of yeas of gm products so I don't know why Dorman doesn't seem to know it will fit these. These stiil a lot on the road. Obviously mine is 24 years old this year and has 275K miles and still runs pretty good with few issues, most recent was a fuel pump a few months back that I was pissed I didn't replace when I had bed off to fix brake line leak!@#$%@#!. And this lost dust cover happened after replacing warped rotors that were less than 2 years old and driving with nut covers off!@$@%#^!
