You can disconnect the battery for about 5 minutes or longer (I'd leave it disconnected for at least 15 minutes) then re-connect it to reset the ECU and clear the SES light.

I'm not sure if you have a 96+, but if you do, the OBDII systems will not be ready for SMOG and will need to have multiple drive cycles to be readied again. That goes for any time you reset the SES light. If you need the OBDII systems to be ready, here's a good step-by-step of how to force the systems to be ready: http://www.obdii.com/drivecycle.html

Also, most auto part stores can check and reset SES codes for free. Doesn't hurt to call or stop by and ask.

You need to set the ignition timing properly. Stating that it's "a little off" says you didn't do the job properly. Fix it right, set the timing properly, clear the light and redrive.
You neglected to state the year. All OBD2 PCMs require the scan tool to properly clear a trouble code. Disconnecting the battery only clears the fuel trim calculations and readiness monitors (further hampering emissions inspections, depending on which anonymous state you reside in).

Do a Google search (or this forum as well) for P1345 or CMP Retard and you’ll find some options on inexpensive Bluetooth scan apps that you can use to set it.

1997 Chevy Tahoe 5.7 .I did the run there as suggested. Erased code first .Did the run and know code P1345 is back .Timing says set at 0.
Engine has new cam senser and all was good before I changed intake Gasket.

I think I had the same code on my 98 tahoe. Timing was off just a little bit, enough to set the light. Buddy at garage hooked up to scanner, tried all the steps but wouldn't go off. Ended up just lightly twisting distributor and light went off. On a side note, in needed to be inspected. In NYS, if light is on then it won't pass. I would clear the code in the morning put would come right back on. I cleared the code, went to the inspection station, plugged it in and it passed. Can't remember the year cutoff, but since mine was a 98, was allowed 2 monitors not ready, long as light isn't on.

Is that the timing PID that you’re reading or the CMP Retard (or offset or CKP/CMP Correlation). Two different things - the second is the one that gets thrown off when a distributor is removed. Easy to set with a scanner or certain Bluetooth apps.
