On the way home, hit the brakes to stop at a red light and I heard a pop, my pedal went to the floor, and I seen something fly from my left front wheel. Luckily no one was in front of me or hit me when I ran that light.

Anyways, I found my outer brake pad wedged between the wheel and the caliper...I’m not sure if it was my clips that I seen going AWOL or the inner brake pad. As I type this, I’m currently waiting on my wife to pick me up so I can come back with tools.

Man keep us posted. Sounds like the parts were defective which scares me.. I'm about to order brakes soon. Glad your ok and the truck. Shame that happened
Idk, maybe I missed something when I installed them, but this did happen after about 100 miles since the installation. Guess I’ll know in the morning

So everything is how it’s supposed to be with the exception of the outer brake pad. I have no clue what or why the clips broke off of the other pad. I put it back together with new pads, ensured everything fit as it should. Did a small test drive which was successful.

In mass production, there will always be parts that are defective. Every once in a while the bad ones make it through QC. Just an unfortunate reality.
I'm just glad there's no major damage and that you got everything back together without much fuss.

Thank you. I hate blaming things on defective parts, but as we all know, there’s really no way to install the pads wrong on these trucks. If the same thing happens again, I’ll replace the caliper. I just hate not knowing exactly what caused the failure, because now I have no way of knowing if this could happen again. Luckily I was able to dodge all of the cars in that busy intersection, which is a challenge in a boat of this size lol
