Got the rest of the flares mounted on the truck. I’ll pop them back off when I get to the more serious body work so I can get the trim glue off.

Best $40 I’ve spent so far. Gotta love them junkyard finds!

Getting these on is really bringing the ideas I’ve been planning in my head to life.

Hoping to do an oil change this weekend to discover if the knocking noise is an issue with the engine or fingers crossed something less drastic.

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome thus far.

They ain’t wrong about the TX bbq. Carolina is good but TX does it right. I went to Austin in December 2019 and that bbq changed my life haha. Thanks for all the kind words everyone.

Went back to the junkyard today. Returned the clear lenses and sold them my black mirror and picked up the rest of the Suburban fender flares. If you’re gonna go this route make sure you get the suburban flares because they’re not two piece like the Tahoe. I’m gonna mock them up tonight when I get home from work and I’ll share as usual.

went to the Salt Lick bbq joint in Round Rock a couple years ago on my first trip to Austin and it wasn’t bad. And I’ve tried several Carolina joints from Bryson City to Asheville and they’ve usually been decent. Worst Bbq I’ve ever had in my life was in Albuquerque. I’ve just spent so much time enjoying Memphis BBQ in my life I’m kinda partial to Memphis over anything else.

Does anyone know what this is. I dropped a LED bulb behind it and cannot get it back out. My fingers are just too big but idk what it is or does so I’m being cautious. It’s near the blower motor on the passenger side behind the glove box. I was trying to change my glove box light when it slipped out of my fingers.

Also when cleaning the truck I found this unopened part under the seat. I can tell it’s been in there for a long time because the label is completely worn and I can’t make out anything. It kind of looks like a thermostat.

On a good note I replaced my license plate bulbs with LEDs buuuuut broke both of the lenses [emoji23]. I was not having the best luck last night. Has anyone used the plug n play LED pods off eBay?

I'm not sure but it could be the speed control (resistors) for your blower motor.

That looks like a wheel cylinder for your drum brakes.

First picture is an air damper actuator - presumably for your recirc damper but I’m having trouble orienting myself in the picture. Never had an 88-94 before.

Not sure why they put the black and yellow bio-hazard looking tape on it.

If the engine is kakked consider a v8 swap. I am pretty sure the 350 has the same throttle body and injectors as the 4.3 but you will need a 350 chip.

I am not a fan of the 4.3. The power of a 4 cylinder with the fuel economy of an 8!

My 4.8 with 453000 miles 2003 ECSB 2wd got the same mileage as my wife's 94 Astro with 263000. The truck was heavier and will run circles around the Minivan.

I asked a friend at work & he too said it’s for the rear drums. Nice, one less part I need to buy haha.

Thanks guys for solidifying the info!
