Evening Gentlemen,

This is my first post on the site, apologies If I went about asking this in the wrong area. I recently purchased a 1995 C2500 and I love it so far, but I have ran into an issue.

I live In Ohio, and the previous owner removed the running boards on the truck. I have no issue with this, but the rocker panels below the door now have holes where the screws resided.

I want to figure out a way to seal them and make sure they are protected before water and other crap starts to get in there and start to rot. I have used some fluid film to spray in there, and have heard about people using RTV or other items to seal up panels.

If anyone has any advice or ideas I am all ears.

Thanks,
Ryan

I'd say just spry some used motor oil up into there, that will stop the holes from rusting, and probably help the rocker itself last.

Most of the time, rockers rust out due to plugged drain holes causing junk to build up and rust from the inside out.

My point being that these holes might be good for your rockers, so don't plug them.

I would just keep up with the fluid film. I used wd40 and they're rusting now, but it been years with the crappy running boards gone.

Appreciate the insight! I just kept them unplugged and filled it with Fluid Film, hoping they last for a long time!

Will do! I ended up using the fluid film and used the wand attachment I had to get in there. Appreciate the insight!

You might try a brake cleaner nozzle on that Ff.....you'll use it faster, but you'll get a much nicer spray pattern.
