Howdy,

Got most of the way through the big maintenance cycle on the Suburban and the last thing that needs to come apart is the AIR check valves. I got wrenches on both nut and valve and have tried to get them loose after soaking them in PB Blaster and even took the MAP torch to one and they aren't coming loose. Any tips and/or tricks for getting these blasted things off? Can't delete them as I live in CA.

Thanks

An old plummers trick is to use two hammers. One is held against the fitting to be removed where the threads are and the second hammer is then used to smack the OPPOSITE side of the fitting. You can try a couple different angles if you have the room. This will swell the fitting a tiny bit loosening the thread interface. Put them back together with lots of neverseize!

Ended up being the thread was galled on one side. Had to cut the end of the valve off then use a hacksaw to cut the nut section down to the thread roots and then it came off. I did stop before I got to the crown of the thread on the tube.
The other side came off after soaking in PB Blaster for 2 days without much headache.
