Are leaf springs a wear item? I’ve noticed my truck sags rather badly with any sort of load in it. My buddy has a ‘96 Sierra that I can stand on the bumper and it hardly moves, while mine sags like yo mama just stood on the bumper. Is this just how our trucks are sprung? Or is it time for new springs?

Side note: what are yalls opinions on air shocks? Been bouncing that idea around to help smooth the ride out and help with the few times I load her down.

Yes they wear. Especially if you tow or overload a lot. Mine or old and orginal. 473k miles on them lol. Bushing are dry rotted and springs sag a little. I'm gonna replace that on mine with the 5 +1 . Depending on how much lift they give me on the rear. I'm gonna try roadmaster active suspension kit. But airbags are good if you go that route

My truck did have a bumper hitch on it when I bought it, but I can’t imagine how much they were actually towing with 3.08 gears and a V6. The motor was also hurtin pretty bad when I bought it too though.....hmmm

The bed also droops on one side, idk if that’s an indicator of bad springs or not.

That kit looks really cool! If I towed more (or at all lol) I’d be all over that. I’m mainly hoping the air shocks like Gabriel or Monroe makes would make the truck a little less jarring over bumps.

Check your body bushings. They dry rot and go bad. Also I hear you. My issue is I cant get the suburban high enough in my garage without the diff not dropping low enough to be free lol
Mine has a 4rc lift. So they came out more leveled then I like. I want the rear to be and inch or 2 higher then the front lol. That's why ima start with the 5+1 first. And if need be get the roadmaster to get it a little more to the height I want. Plus it helps with towing or handling. Sometime the bodies in the back make her loaded lol

Body bushings are brand new. Got em in red to match, because why not. I know how heavy those bodies can be too lol. Just about bottomed out my suspension one time. (It was on Halloween and all the friends piled into the back to go trick or treat...I’m not a serial killer I promise Lolol)

Do you have all of your factory leaves? Is your friend's truck a heavy half ton or bigger?
