Now do the 4L80e. Changed the fluid and filter on my 95 2500 and it helped the slipping and crazy shifting, but still shifts hard 1-2.
Reset the trans controller shift timing parameters, let it re-learn.
Or
You've got a broken accumulator. My '700 had a couple of broken accumulator springs.
Or
Someone put in a "shift kit" that deliberately shifts harshly.

Question for anybody who wants to through some ideas..

If I start my truck up in the cool mornings it normally starts fine. After work yesterday afternoon it was warmer started fine drove about 20miles and went inside a store for maybe 10min. Come back turned the key and it dragged to start... almost like battery was weak. New alt, new bat, wires will get upgraded soon but my question is this I suspect heat causing this. So what the heck is dragging? Is it the starter or something more major? The starter fairly new from oreilly and It doesn't have a heat shield but is that really my issue or do you think it can be the electrical components? I know it's hard with out seeing the truck in person but I've notice this from time to time if I try to start the truck after it's a pretty warm day. Normally if I let it sit to cool off everytime it starts fine

What is the battery open-circuit voltage?
What is the battery voltage WHILE CRANKING?
What is the voltage-drop from battery + to the big + terminal on the starter solenoid?
What is the voltage-drop from engine block to battery - ?

That's something I need to check. I've checked the battery and its 12.4. I've yet to do the rest. How would you check at the starter?
