Exactly. Why go in to debt by purchasing a new vehicle when an old vehicle is just fine? Plus, newer vehicles are becoming more cheaply made and kind of a pain to work on. So many sensors, it's unbelievable.
On the subject of sensors, my instructor told us he worked on a 2013 Focus that had a SES light and the battery stayed on for 10 seconds. The owner had the alternator replaced, since it had a U012D code. Didn't fix it. Spent almost $1000 at some shop to replace it with a factory Ford one. Low and behold, it was the active grille shutter actuator that was bad... Of all things, it was that tiny little actuator, not the alternator.
I heard GM is "supposedly" working on a new square body with an LS engine and upgraded features. Why the square body and not a 400 is beyond me, lol.
