Looks pretty good man. I want that pioneer double din for my sierra! Of course it's a 98 and will fit. But its somewhat a pretty penny isn't it? I was about to pull the trigger on one a couple years ago but was hesitant to spend the money on a stereo I didnt need and instead got scammed on a chinese cheap POS that was never shipped. I got refunded but still...

Its hard to argue with something that just isn't working out for ya and I can totally see why it would be a pita down there. I probably wouldnt be able to comfortably reach it.

Is there a radio that's like 1.5 din with a screen? Lol

Al

Yep. Factory 2005 silverado is a din & half. Fwiw; u can buy a unlocked one for about 150 bucks

I had to add my 3 cents, if kid is happy, then let it be , Me I do some crazy stuff in my day, For the guy who has 180k in mileage ,I got ya beat ,I live in the rust belt, Chevy's weren't built in the day to survive long cold winter and tons of salt , My truck got a mere 300,000 plus miles and am still on first engine ,but I bought my truck, was a mess, and am still trying to figure out why last owner did what he did, This kid seems want to troll us old timers, who remembers what bailing wire was for? or do you know Chevy trucks had muffler bearings? If guy happy, then say cool and move on, he wont change, and neither will us.

Not a fan of your customization but it is yours and its not like your chopping up someone else's so chop away.

Personally would have moved it as far right as possible in attempt to keep lines stright and clean on left side. . .. if i can find it ill post pic of my 93 z71 with a double. It was clean looking

This is not for a customer though right.... I'm a perfectionist with everything I do....

There is nothing in this "build" that even hints at that statement being true.

If a guy needs something done in a hurry, I get it, I've been on the side of the road using the hood light as a test light, making a temporary wiring fix by twisting wires and duct tape. Fine, as it was an emergency and was replaced as soon as it wasn't the emergency that it was.

Radio install never would qualify. And I would never share an half baked attempt with the entire interweb and attempt pass it off as a finished project, and then get butt hurt when the English speaking world took me to task for making the attempt public.

This is a great example of what happens when someone has never been shamed for doing a half job. He gets to think the world is waiting around to patt his head and tell him good job for trying. Life is NOT a place that should give out participation trophies.

You get an "atta-boy" or hell yeah when the work deserved such, and when it's half baked, own the criticism. What's what real men do.

Own your comeuppance.

I'm not the op nor the one who installed the radio. I'm just kind of surprised at how fast some people are quick to criticize others. I dont know why, I should know better.

I teach my kids that it's never to late to start over, use what you have learned and try again. Everyone starts somewhere.

And the lesson here is don't post crap on the internet if you're easily triggered. The net is a whole world of butthurt just waiting to happen.
