Hey y'all!

I bought a 454 suburban about a month ago, and today I was on my way to buy some seats from a guy when I noticed my water temp was high. I coaxed it home, and found that it is leaking from somewhere in the area of the heater lines.

What a rats nest of hoses!

This vehicle is just the funvee, not a DD. So I want to bypass the heater core.

Do I understand correctly that all I need is to cut the lines from the radiator, then from the intake manifold, and install a 3/4" barbed fitting to join the two?

I did a forum search, and got lost in all of the posts. I'm sure one exists explaining this, but I couldn't find it. It's more confusing than the tangle of hoses going to the front and rear heaters.

Thanks guys!

I know its 3/4 inch.
Couple years ago I replaced the two T fittings, where it splits to feed front and rear heaters and the second one was the return from both. I bought the wrong size at first, so I made note that it is 3/4.

That helps a significant amount. It doesn't seem difficult other than knowing the size coming out of the intake and into the radiator.

You may have done this already, but I found pulling the air filter box out gave me a lot more working space around those hoses. Only took like 5 minutes to pull that box.

Why did you start two threads on the same subject?

It was a mistake. I put it in one place, realized I put it in the wrong spot, and made the other one with intent to delete the first one. Then I forgot only mods can delete threads.

Mine has a broken clip, so it takes me about 30 seconds. :D
