Yeah but like the question at hand is for cap dimensions specifically. Just kinda looking for the best fit. I know they're usually rounded up, but I was wondering if there is a standard I should be looking for.

I'm not understanding your inquisition for specific measurements. You need a cap for a short box GM 88-98. Ford and Dodge caps. newer or older gm caps even of similar measurements are going to have different angles at the roof line and at the back of the cab and look quite goofy on our year span of trucks.

The question at hand is quite irrelevant. You have a bed you can measure to satisfy your curiosity if need be. I'd rather you measure yours then me measure mine for you.

I guess I don't know what you're asking. If you need measurements for your truck bed, measure it. If you're looking for a brand that makes camper shells that fits our trucks, google it. I know snug top still makes them, but other than that, I can't help if you can't tell me what you're looking for.

The toppers that fit the best are the ones that match the measurements of the bed. Just find a used one for a Chevy off Craigslist. 90s Ford toppers will be about 3” too long

I’m assuming you want the best “fit”.

most of the toppers will work. They are also relatively cheap used. They weren’t made too well back then so don’t expect quality. I had a Snugtop and the quality would be considered substandard by today’s builds. Take in account that not all toppers will fit correctly. The early models had no accommodation for the third brake light so make sure the caps you look at are year specific as far as range. If you have a third brake light you can’t use the early 88-93 ish as the caps don’t have the indented area to accommodate for the third brake light. however if you don’t have the third brake light you can use all years.
