Made some good progress today. Cleaned and gave most of the block a quick blast of paint. It's motor paint, but I don't expect it to hold up forever since it was just a quick job. Don't mind the over spray, the valve covers are getting tossed for the new ones. Also switched out the oil filter attachment, to one that does not have fittings for the oil cooler lines, as my truck does not have them, nor do I need them.
The headers also showed up today and I got them mounted up.

Got the bed off too. Going to work on getting the rusted bolts off of the bed on the parts truck, so I can get that bed off. The parts truck is taking up space in the driveway, and I want it out.

The valve covers were difficult as they are 1/4" taller than stock. I had to take a chunk off the a/c compressor bracket and the compressor its self to make it fit. I shaved too much down and made a hole by mistake but ive got a spare compressor I can use.... if anyone has a work around instead of shaving the compressor i'd love to hear it.

Got the new oil pan on. Weather permitting tomorrow, I will try to get the motor back in the truck so I can finish the work on it. Still a long way to go, but I am making progress.

Man that motor coming along. awesome work

Thanks man! Only snapped one bolt in the motor trying to get it bolted onto the stand, which I cannot get out, but I think i can get away with one missing bolt when I get the trans bolted on. My first time ever doing this big of a job and I am learning as I go.
