just got around to replacing my front bumper with the one from my old truck. Its a Stylin Concepts one , with the fog/driving lights in it. I also installed the 6 hi wiring harness while I had the grill off. I can get the fog lights to come on if i jump the wires, but not work at all with the switch. The switch was an Ebay purchase, so I`m not sure of the condition of it. I`m going to assume that the switch itself is bad ?What are your thoughts ? Oh yeah, 2000 3500, its the factory in dash fog switch

Can a switch go bad? Of course it can! Do you have voltage to the switch? What about the other terminal when you flip it?

yes, there is power to the switch [yellow wire] grey wire powers up when the lights are turned on. Nothing happens to the brown, or purple wire when you turn the switch on. I can "jump" a wire from the yellow to the purple, and the lights come on

It's interesting that you get power on the yellow wire, as that's supposed to be the OUTPUT from the switch. The INPUT to the switch is the brown wire coming from your parklights switch. The purple wire is supposed to be for the "Fog Lights On" indicator, tho it is connected directly to the foglights themselves. The only time you should get voltage on the yellow wire is either when the foglights switch is on, or the high-beam headlights are on (at which point the fog lights shouldn't work).

That's factory operation, I don't know what the 6-high mod changes in that.

Got a new switch from Z71Hobbs, and the problem is fixed. I guess the old switch was bad after all
