Ok, I’m not giving up. But damn this is frustrating. I’ve tried to do the relearn on the passlock twice. As I’m typing this, I’m at minute 38 and security light hasn’t gone off yet. I have cut and twisted together the two left wires on plug. (The plug on top of ignition cylinder). But if my light won’t go out I don’t guess I can even start the relearn process.

im going to bed. Work and this truck have worn me out.

Most airbag circuits also have a sticker wrapped around it that says srs airbag, caution. If you have to work on an airbag circuit definitely have the battery disconnected and use extreme caution. I had to resolder a wire back onto a ring so the steering wheel can spin and connect to the airbag. Super dangerous and I was ******** my pants trying not to overheat the wire or the ring and cause the airbag to go off. I had to fix this after replacing my ignition switch.

Al
Well technically this truck is a 2500 so it shouldn’t have any airbags

Well I did not know that. But nonetheless, yellow wires usually are designated for air bag circuits and as such will have a sticker stating that fact.

Thanks for sharing.

Al
Sorry if that sounded kinda rude I wasn’t trying to be an ahole. I didn’t realize it wasn’t stated before I responded.

thegawd, after u told me about the yellow wire being associated with air bag I was super cautious. Then I realized it in fact didn’t have an airbag. I was looking hard for tags on all yellow wires. Anyway, I appreciate all the advice and suggestions. I just haven’t found that right combination that’ll get her going. I’m trying to not have to send the pcm to get programmed. But looking more and more like ima have to.

When I had the passlock problems last year on my 99 Burb, I tried everything (except the resistor wire, I didn't want to break into the column; some of the places we go for work can be a bit sketchy). I didn't want to spend the money getting it electronically deleted, but I haven't had any more issues with it after having that done. When Mom and I are leaving a worksite after midnight, and we get in and the truck starts right up with only a key turn, it's $250 well spent!

Looks like that’s what I’m going to have to do. At this point I would consider $250 a bargain to get the Ghost up and running. I have a Jeep tj I’ve been driving to work. It hurts my soul when someone ask where my truck is. I just mumble something about being able to put top down on Jeep since the weather is good. My Jeep is automatic with 4.0 6 cyl. I miss floating gears and that rumble. Lol

Last summer, all 3 of us were working, and having to go farther to get to work. We spent more $$ than I want to remember on rental cars, to be able to get to work, because I couldn't figure out what was going on with the Burb. And if I spent $$ on a mechanic with the Burb, then there's no money for food or rent.....
At least we had ac and better mileage. And I saw that there are several good options for a late model econobox that all 3 of us can fit in.
