Thanks guys for all the help. I had never heard of passlock. Looks like i'm gonna get to know about it now. The losing power while driving, I've narrowed down to a yellow wire in the multi function. I have a switch just no time to tackle that issue. I know a guy with a scanner. Guess I'll give him a call. See what's up.
thegawd - I actually just replaced the ignition switch and lock cylinder about a month ago. Probably wouldn't hurt to revisit that project make sure everything still connected.

Tanks again

Yes 98 up trucks you and mr.passlock will get acquainted! I'd never heard of it before my Burb started having problems starting and running last summer. This is my second 99 Burb, but never had issues with the other one like that. I got rid of the passlock by having it tuned out (electronically deleted from the computer). Cost $250 but well worth it to know that the truck will go when it needs to! Good luck!

Just asking, why not just remove the column plastics to access the release hole for the tumbler? It's pretty much a one-time job, not like you gotta do it so often you need a hole in the plastic.

Richard

Lol I did it incase I gotta switch the cylinder. Too lazy to remove the cover. My truck equipped with an alarm and is mostly garage kept nowdays. I 100% see the downfall and agree with you. . But way I see it. I doubt a thief has a spare lock cylinder in his pocket. They'll still rob the truck if they want.

The place I was referred to is J-Rods Speed Shop, in Rosenberg on FM723. They primarily work on LS powered stuff, they seem to have done a good job. I would think there'd be some place more on your side of town, but not sure.

Because the plastic wraps around the bottom of the ignition switch and it's a massive pain in the ass to try not to break it. The video I watched where the guy didnt drill the hole was clearly a professional mechanic with a small 90° punch or pic that looked like it was made for the job.... probably a GM patented tool much like the damn 9.5mm hex allen key "brake tool." For f@#$% sakes. LOL.

That's good info relevant to the problem.... yes definitely go back over it.... possibly at the firewall plug? Is it fully seated and bolted in place? Why did you change the ignition switch to begin with?

Awesome jw

Black Bear Performance can do it by mail, anywhere that uses HPTuners or EFI Live should be able to do it in person.

Thanks for the replys both of you. I'll keep it in mind when my craps out lol. Hopefully not any time soon. Fingers crossed
