hey gentleman and Ladies I guess.
I have a question about rear disc brake conversion kits. What kit did y’all use, where did you get it and,was it worth it. Not sure which direction I will go. Thanks in advance for the input

I also used the LSMFG kit @FastFreddy mentioned. I have the 6-lug truck and it was a pain in the ass.

Link to the kit: https://www.littleshopmfg.com/gm-88-00-k1500-rear-disc-brakes-6-lug-11-drum/

Albeit a nice kit, it wasn't as advertised being an easy bolt-on kit and took quite a bit to get it 90%. You MUST remove the axles if you want to install the 6-lug kit, their kit says it isn't necessary but is 110% is. Don't even get me started on bleeding the brakes...

Here's my whole thread on it here: https://www.gmt400.com/threads/so-y...-kit-heres-my-02-tips-and-tricks-guide.49226/

It's a neat looking kit, worth the money in aesthetics. I didn't notice any significant braking improvement. Mainly the GMT800 MC firming up the pedal was the difference I felt. I didn't modify the proportioning valve as the instructions said that they "advise" you to and didn't state that it is "required". Maybe if I wanted to deal with bleeding the brakes again I'll go ahead and do that. But I don't want to be anywhere near those bleeder valves for a long time. Feel free to shoot me any questions, I'll try to answer them the best I can.

I used all OEM Escalade AWD rear set up with 2004 silverado x cab rear brake cables. All i had to get was a spacer to build out the brakes for proper alignment. Upgraded the fronts with the same.

I know this is old. But I am very curious. Do you have any photos?
