Truck smells nice after the Tide bath. I also got a 2nd opinion today. My hangar neighbor has a number of GMT400s and square bodies so I had him drive the dually today to see what he thought of the power that it makes. Compared to my boosted tuned trucks it's so gutless I thought it was broken. Turns out it's not, that's just how they are stock. He said it had more grunt than any of his small block trucks. Then I tossed him the keys to the 1500 and told him to take a rip, he'd understand why I was so uncertain of the power output of this truck. After all that, I got the drivers' window seated properly and fixed the lock that wasn't working right. I'd tweaked the rod and once you locked it and unlocked it, it wouldn't unlock because it didn't have enough travel. I stretched the rod out last year when I installed the window, **** just wasn't playing ball and I resorted to brute force. Clearly that wasn't the answer, so I put a bend in the rod to shorten it and that seemed to do the trick. Then I brought the 3500 home with the camper on its back and swapped in the Rockford Fosgate speakers that I liberated from the flipper. Tomorrow the stockers go into the flipper and the driver's side door panel can FINALLY be reinstalled. Passenger's side panel can go back on when I locate another disgustingly cheap used replacement handle. The one I put on the other day has the tumbler clocked 180 degrees off of what this truck came with. Didn't realize that was a thing with these trucks. I think this junkyard handle came off an SUV, so I'll avoid those. Also gonna take a crack at charging the AC on this thing, hopefully I don't waste a can or 3 in the process.

So, I forgot to grab the manual in my rush out the door on Friday. I’ve come up with a couple possibilities. In the convenience center, C9 is 4000PPM VSS. On the C100 Connector, C4 is VSS on Diesels, D4 for the gas jobs. I think this is where you might need to look.

VSS on the gassers comes straight from the PCM, whereas the diesels have a buffer like the older EFI. Hope this points you in the right direction.

Where's the convenience center? Strange name for a fuse box. Is C100 the interior connector? I believe I have a VSS coming into the cab, maybe just need to hook it to that C223 in the convenience center?

Convenience center is the part under the dash, where the door buzzer goes. C100 connector is the through firewall bulkhead fitting on the drivers side.

That handle may have been from a Suburban/Tahoe barn door. That lock is backward in rotation to the right front door, since the lock on the right side rotates to the front to unlock and to the rear to lock. That's opposite to the left side. What makes me think of this is I'm used to opening up my Burb on the barn doors, and unlocking the rest of the truck with the power door lock switch on the post. That's really handy, wish my square body Burbs had that feature! Our 06 truck locks and unlocks "backwards " to the 99, and the new kid ( 01 F150 super crew) is "backwards " to the Burb too. Have to pause to think when inserting the key, think on which truck is this and which way to unlock!
Fun fact: the key blade for the 800 series is the same pattern as the 95--up 400 key. But the head has to be smaller on the 400 key to fit in the lock cylinder ears.
This comes from a locksmith friend who has been in business for 40 years, and done all sorts of car locks.

I pulled it from an SUV, but it came from the right front door. Probably didn't have a lock cylinder in it then, thought nothing of it. Now I know.

You have to really look at them lol. The driver door handle different then the right side and like HotWheelsBurban said rear barn door handle different and if you have a tailgate that's a different handle lol. Figured this out by accident when I wanted to swap my barn door handle in the tailgate

So the AC no longer works and there is no evidence of leakage. Guess it's time for the black light. In other news, check out this junkyard haul.

Super piddly crap. Plus a battery and a sidepost conversion to the existing ghetto rig.

Also, here's the old broken correct handle on the right and the wrong one on the left. I grabbed the correct handle today and got it in with the tumbler. I soaked the door panels in tide detergent and pressure washed them. They go back on tomorrow and my list falls to fewer than 5 things before I stick a for sale sign in this pig. None of the remaining issues are big deals.
