It also took care of some wind noise. You can definitely feel a difference in the new weatherstripping vs. the worn out POS weatherstripping. Hopefully it lasts a while, because they are p.i.t.a. to install.
I always wondered that myself, I never realized they didn't come with them from the factory, always just thought people removed them haha.
