In need of 4x4 problem help

I don’t know if this is the right spot to ask, if not just let me know.

I’ve got a 95 k1500, I’m new to owning a 4x4 but have done everything I can find online on getting my front wheels to lock. I have the floor 4x4 shifter, I can easily put it into every option, the transfer case does lock when I put it into 4x4 but my front wheels won’t lock. Actuator (electric) works fine but I’m out of ideas on what won’t let the front differential to lock the tires. Is there something I’m missing or I can check??

How have to determined that your transfer case is locking into 4wd? How have you determined that your actuator is working?

On the transfer case the front drive shaft locks in when I have it in 4x4 and when in 4lo I feel to low gearing when trying to accelerate. The actuator I have removed it, while plugged it I put it into both 4hi and 4low and see the plunger move and have checked and do have a constant 12v to the plug. Is there something I’m not testing correctly?

Take a strong magnet and plug it out to verify that it is. While you are at it jack up the right front tire and then take a punch that is long enough to reach into the housing and push the front axle engagement fork in and see if the axle locks. Have the truck in 4WD and if the axle locks you should NOT be able to turn the RF tire.

I will try that tomorrow. Would I be able to use a screw driver? Don’t have any punches

Yes Screwdriver, socket extension, a piece of wooden dowel. Anything that will fit into the actuator bore and that is long enough to reach the fork.

IT did have the spacer puck and used a extension with a socket to manually push the fork. Truck was in 4hi and the front right tire still spun freely.
