Forgive the info that I know GMT400 owners already know. I'm cross-posting to a few forums I'm on. Best to email since I'm not on here much. [email protected].

This truck has more new parts than any sane person should ever drop into a vehicle that isn't some sort of show car. And there's a pile more in the back. Seriously, if it bolts on easy enough that a shadetree mechanic could do it, it's probably been replaced, usually for no other reason than I was bored and like to tinker. Other notable work includes a timing set replacement while I was fixing an oil leak (including new water pump, fan, and clutch).

ACDelco parts as much as possible. Otherwise quality brands used (Bilstein, Moog, etc)

Make a not-insulting offer.

1993 chevrolet suburban 2500

condition: good
cylinders: 8 cylinders
drive: rwd
fuel: gas
odometer: 161500
paint color: blue
size: full-size
title status: clean
transmission: automatic
type: SUV

I’m selling my 1993 Chevrolet Suburban C2500, Silverado trim. ~161K miles. Clean title, in my name and in-hand. It’s daily-driven and well-maintained. I take it on road trips all over SoCal all the time with no issues.
Specs: ¾ ton, 2WD, 7.4L (454), 4L80E, 3.73 rear, hydroboost brakes, factory tow package, 8800GVWR. Power everything, tilt, cruise, AC (blows cold), 3rd row seating

Extras: Newer stereo with Bluetooth, factory forged aluminum wheels off a newer Chevy truck, new exhaust (including catalytic converter), K&N air filter, upgraded cooling system, LED tail lights (originals come with as well), keyless entry, new grille and headlights just because the old ones looked dingy, and a few other odds and ends.

The Good: Lots and lots of new parts, a lot of which were replaced proactively to keep the truck in great mechanical condition. Working on this truck is a bit of a hobby of mine, so there are lots of parts that likely didn’t need replacement but I did it anyway. Also comes with many new parts not yet installed. Original drivetrain, no leaks, no issues passing smog. Local San Diego vehicle its whole life, so no cancerous rust. Also, I don’t believe the truck has ever been used to do any heavy towing. While it DOES have the factory tow package, the wiring for it has never been connected under the hood. The heaviest I have ever towed with it is a small trailer with a few sportbikes on it, which for this truck is no issue.

The Bad: Exterior is in so-so condition. Typical clearcoat issues you would expect from a vehicle this old that was stored outside. The right rear tire blew out at one point, which dented the quarter panel and caused paint damage to the passenger door. Typical dings and scratches, but still respectable. Interior is in very good shape (very clean), except the headliner is sagging. ABS and rear window defroster don’t work, but everything else does.
I’m only selling because I came across a deal on a newer model that I couldn’t refuse.

2x on that. I'd love to have another 2500 Burb. And with gas cheaper, one can afford to feed a big block....

Ouch again! Where are you buying gas!? I filled the Burb up a little while ago at the local Kroger gas station. It wasn't nearly that much. Although I did have 20 cents per gallon discount from rewards points. But the regular price for 87 octane was $1.759, so I paid $1.559.

The truck seems to run fine on the Kroger gas, and it is 3 miles from the trailer park. Kroger has a digital coupon for double points on weekend purchases through August. And their "weekend " is Thursday through Sunday. I go in several Kroger stores for work, so it's a convenient option for groceries, though HEB has better prices overall.

I remember way back in 2004 when we still had our 84 square body Burb, 2wd, C10, 350 quadra jet. Dad had set the timing ahead so it would run better (truck had like 300 thou on it LOL) and we were running premium 92 octane in it. 40 gallon tank on those Burbs. We paid $2.049 at Sam's Club, and I had never paid that much a gallon for gas before! Talked to a buddy who was living in LA at the time, in Texas for the weekend, and he said gas was already $2.50 a gallon out there. Of course in the next few years the price doubled......lived through it taking a C note to gas up the truck at half full, but ate a lotta peanut butter sandwiches and cheap cereal to do it.....
Sorry to the OP for the thread Jack

My dad said when he first bought the suburban back in 97 gas was cheap lol. Nowdays I keep it full and fill up every time it hits half. I should start to consider points though to save money. I know there's smart ways to spend money lol.
