Long story short, I started a trans rebuild and got the majority of it done. The main shaft was redone and I was having issues reassembling the case so I dropped it off at a local shop. Local shop returned it, no fourth gear. He didnt install the spacer between the bearing and retainer. Sent it back, he said it's been fixed. I put the trans in, drove for 30 mins no problem. I gave it some in 2nd gear to merge and I go to shift to 3rd and nothing. It wouldnt go into any gear other than 5th and reverse. After an hour of trying i finally got it back into 3rd, and I drove it home in third. I check when I get home and I have all gears again. I'm looking for someone that has alot of knowledge with this trans. Even with the truck off, it would not shift, I initially thought it was the slave cylinder. But it feels like a shift rail issue, or something with this thrust washer maybe jamming up.

Known issue: I pulled the trans out and apart last night after getting home. I found an error that was made during main shaft assembly. The thrust bearing retainer was not installed. Could this cause this no shift?

And I cannot for the life of me find a nv3500 repair manual. I will literally PayPal someone to help me out getting this solved. No one local will touch it because one shop already had their hands on it. Any help would be appreciated, my other vehicle jumped timing and is dead. Terrible timing so hopefully I can sort this.

Thanks, I've got these fortunately. Took the trans down to a bare shift last night and restarted per the manual. I just dont like that I have the 4 rail design and I cant find a good diagram for the rails and forks. I believe I have them all set up correctly but I wanted to verify while its apart. I'm also curious about the roll if the pin in the end of one of the shift rails.
