I don't know but, I thought the TBI 5.7L with 65cc 193 heads and 12cc dish pistons was closer to 9.5 CR, these 162108 heads are 62cc so CR should be higher, maybe closer to ~9.7?

I didn't look at the shortblock info prior to posting. Looking at it now, they claim 9.7:1 with 64CC chambers, so 62CC may put it closer to 10:1. All that will depend on headgasket selection and how far down the hole the pistons actually are, and actual chamber measurements. If everything specs to nominal, then it will be pretty healthy indeed.

Yep, I miscalculated compression ratio. You guys are right, it will be right around 10:1.

I ended up with the Edelbrock 2102. It should really wake this truck up! I also opted to not use the lifters that come with cam, instead purchased the Lunati lifters.

I appreciate all the help. I cant wait to get this truck on the road and start enjoying it.

I have literally almost replaced everything on this truck! The $ amount is insane! Im afraid to add it all up.

Its still going to be better than buying a new truck

Oh, in case you're not aware of it, your Summit heads take long reach (.750") gasket (washer type) seat spark plugs not the OE 5/8" tapered seat spark plugs. I'm running a little colder plug than the RC9YC. HTH

Yep, found that out after I got the heads, and read instructions. They don't want an angle seat plug digging into the soft aluminum heads. Makes sense. I'm running the autolite 3924. It is 1 step colder than stock. I run autolite plugs in everything I can.

Hello! Don't mean to hijack your thread at all, but I find myself at the same juncture. 91 K1500 350, got the vortec heads off of a 96 w/gmpp intake and trying to decide on a cam while I have it apart. Came to the same group from Edelbrock: 3702/2102/2103. I too was going to order the 2102, but then I noticed that it wasn't "computer compatible" and the 3702 was.

I haven't decided on a tuner yet. Let me know how you like the EBL if you have time.

I'll jump in and say I have the EBL (about 1-1/2 years now) and love it. Easy to work with, lots of support, expanded VE and SA tables, self tunes VE and, with a WBO2, it'll even tune at all MAP ranges all the way up to WOT.

Any cam is computer compatible if you can tune the computer. The EBL is great if you want to get into tuning. If not, it should make it much easier for whoever you chose to tune it.
