I think even most purest will agree a 4L80E is the way to go. A 700R4 is not.....

The 4L80E is a th400 plus OD and some electronics.

Sick truck and I did autocross my Dakota 318 auto. It was lowered 4/6 static with wide tires on 17x9 rt rims. There is a lot of heat generated in that 2-3 minute range. Be aware

I see some folks say like you that the 700R4 isnt worthy, some say baloony:confused: My truck has one that has been beefed up and so far its holding up well, of course i dont track it either

I also installed a shorter steering wheel adapter,a 1/2 spacer and a ngr quick release. Had to redrill and tap the ngr quick release to fit the 5 hole steering wheel

Mounted on my roll cage is a boost and fuel pressure gauge for the procharger. Since I removed the roll cage. I going to buy a three hole pillar pod mount and add a volt meter as a third gauge. Since Im running a ton of electronics I figure adding a volt meter that gives an exact number would be a good idea.

Its their pod, the PO did the install although Ive had to redo quite a lot of it, replaced 2 of the 3 and had to add a filter for the tach to read correctly. There is a gap between the dash and speaker that they went thru with the wires

The radiator is a cc1520 champion radiator. I bought it off eBay type champion cc1520 with dual 16” fans it goes for $348 with free shipping. You need to order a shroud separate on eBay type champion radiator cc1520 shroud for $109 with free shipping. You dont have to order a shroud, but I hate using those crap plastic zip ties to mount the fans. The radiator says it’s a 34” radiator for a 1994 or 1995. But it fits a 88-93 with a 34” radiator. You also need a thermostat dual fan relay kit eBay type champion radiator relay185 $55 with free shipping If you want to run it off a temp sensor to turn off and on with the temperature of the water. Or you could just do a toggle switch. I did both the relay and ran a toggle just in case.Order it through eBay if you want free shipping. Champion charges $100 for shipping. From some reason you can’t just order a radiator ,shroud ,and thermostat relay kit as a complete assembly unless you order it through champion radiator. But who wants to pay an extra $100. I also used my stock overflow system. The only mod I had to do was remove the bracket bolt for tranny line to hook up to the radiator, I couldn’t get the correct angle for it to thread in without removing that bolt.My truck runs 180 degrees even when it’s 100 outside. I had champion radiators on 5 different trucks with no problems

Champion Radiator #CC1520.

(with dual 16” fans). $348

Champion Radiator shroud for CC1520 $109

Champion Radiator #Rely185. $55

————-

Total. $512
